Reportedly means that people are saying something happened, but we are not sure if it is true or not. For example, let's say I heard that there is a big, scary monster living in the forest. I can say, 'Reportedly, there is a big, scary monster in the forest.' But I don't know for sure if it's true or not. It's just what people are saying.
