persist

Persist (verb): When something keeps happening or going on for a long time, even when it's difficult.

For example, imagine you are building a tall tower with blocks. You keep trying to build it, but it keeps falling down. But you don't give up! You keep trying and trying until you finally build a tall tower that doesn't fall. That's called persisting!
