Ignorance means not knowing something. For example, if you have never seen a giraffe before and you don't know what it is, that's ignorance. It's like when you don't have any information about something.

Ignorance can also mean not understanding something. For example, if someone is speaking a language that you don't know, you might not understand what they are saying. That's ignorance too.
