Gambling is when people play games with money or things that are valuable, and they hope to win more money or things.

For example, imagine you have a bag of marbles, and you and your friend decide to play a game. You both put some marbles into a pot, and then you take turns picking marbles from the pot. The person who gets the most marbles at the end wins all the marbles in the pot. That's called gambling.
