Democracy is a way of making decisions together. It means that everyone gets a chance to say what they think and vote for what they want.

For example, in a classroom, we can have a democracy when we want to choose a game to play. We can all take turns suggesting a game, and then we vote on which game we want to play. The game with the most votes is the one we play!
